Jean Robert, the severely malnourished 16-year-old with juvenile diabetes, has died. We had taken him into our orphanage and our Medical Administrator of the Jesus Healing Center Barbara MacMannis gave him the best care she could. We did everything we could for him. He is in the arms of Jesus now. Sherry

Word from the Mission Field – 10-14-15
“Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” Matthew 11:29 – Feeling tired and worn down lately? It could mean you are trying to do things all on your own. Remember to stay yoked to the Lord…it makes life so much easier. God bless you. Bobby
Shalken to see Dermatologist: 10-13-2015 1:30 PM
We have finally gotten an appointment for Shalken with an excellent dermatologist for his skin condition that the doctors here believe is “Calcinosis.” He has suffered so badly with this condition. We want to send Shalken to his host family to see this dermatologist with Barbara, and they will fly from Haiti to Columbus, Ohio. The cost of airfare and hotel for Barbara and Shalken for four days will be $2,400. We are asking those of you who see this little boy, and whose hearts are touched, to help with some of this cost or all of it. Please call the office at 239-210-6107 and ask to speak to Rad. Thank you so much on behalf of Shalken. Bobby & Sherry
Ready for a Wedding: 10-13-2015 8:30 AM
Kaeli and I, along with a few other people, are going to Cotin this morning to fit the “grooms” with suits and wedding rings for the couples wedding. We have 18 sets of wedding rings to fit, but I am sure we have four more couples getting married. The big wedding day in Cotin will be held on October 24th. Sherry
Word from the Mission Field – 10-13-15
“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” Acts 20:35 – Most of us hear this scripture quoted before an offering is collected. But actually it refers to more than just money. I know you would agree that God is the greatest giver of all time. (John 3:16) So the reason it is more blessed to give is because it makes us more like God. So be a “more blessed” person today…and give of your time, your talents and your substance. Bobby
Kaeli and Brides – 10-12-15
BIG WEDDING COMING SOON! On October 24th, we will have a big wedding in the village of Cotin, Haiti! There will be 22 couples getting married! When people donate wedding gowns, we save them for the “new brides!” Today, Kaeli, one of our missionaries, had the job of fitting two happy “brides-to-be!” Sherry
Roberta Edwards – 10-12-15
We are so sad and in total shock. Words cannot express how we feel about the loss of our dear friend Roberta Edwards. She started and lived with the children of SonLight Children’s Home. Love A Child provided food for her orphans and other hungry children in her feeding programs every month for the last thirteen years. Saturday evening, while Roberta was getting gas near her orphanage, she was shot and killed. Two children were able to escape even though shots were also fired at them, and a third child that was only four-years-old was kidnapped. I cannot imagine the terror of seeing Roberta shot as the evil kidnappers took him away. Please pray for the kidnapped four-year-old, and all the children of the orphanage. Roberta was a soft-spoken woman who always spoke kind words. She was 55 years old and looking forward to the marriage of one of her children. Roberta was a hero of the FAITH! Her orphanage was always very clean and in perfect order. You could feel love as you walked through her door. Roberta, we will miss you dearly. Bobby and Sherry
Love Is Something You Do – 10-12-15
Bobby’s father was seventy-one-years-old when he was born. When Bobby was only two-weeks-old, his mother was put in a mental hospital for twenty-one years. A woman called Dorothy and her husband raised him. Bobby’s early years were very difficult and he never felt real “love.” Today, Bobby makes sure that ALL of our orphans feel real “love.” You can read all about our FAITH journey in our new book called, “Love Is Something You Do.” Call the Love A Child office today at 239-210-6107 and reserve a copy of “Love Is Something You Do” with a gift of any amount. May God bless you! Sherry

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6 – This is why we put so much effort into building good Christian schools here. The future of Haiti depends on it. God bless you! Bobby
