“Blessed ishe that considereth the poor…” Psalm 41:1 – This lady is very poor and what’s more, Jesus said she is our neighbor. Then, He said, “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” Matthew 19:19 – With Thanksgiving and Christmas around the corner, let’s not forget the poor. Click here to help feed the poor. Sherry
P.S. This lady lives on top of a mountain where we share food each month.
No matter what battle you are facing today, know this, “If God be for us, who canbe against us?” Romans 8:31 – The same one who opened up the Red Sea, fell the walls of Jericho, opened the eyes of the blind, and caused deaf to hear is the same one who is “for us!” Blessings, Sherry
I arrived in Raleigh N.C. yesterday from Haiti. Today was our Love A Child luncheon at the Hilton in Raleigh. The Griffin singers were there along with Anniece and Jennifer Loudermilk who were singing too. Tomorrow I will be joining Pastor Loudermilk’s church in Rocky Mount, N.C. for their church anniversary. Monday morning at 6:00 AM, I will be heading back to Haiti to join Sherry and her Love A Child medical team. This week we are going into the Regions Beyond! Bobby
Today, our Haitian team is in Cotin, a village full of mud huts, dirt roads and very poor families. They are doing all the dossiers (paperwork) for the patients who will be coming to our mobile clinic there. The roads are really bad due to all the recent rain. The medical team will spend the night in Cotin and then go on to a new village named Z’Abriko tomorrow. After church they will do all the dossiers and triage for the patients who will be coming to the mobile clinic in Z’Abriko. Let’s care for the poor and God will take care of us. Sherry
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 15:58 – Sometimes, it is easy to become discouraged working for the Lord, even if it is something as small as cleaning the church, or working in the nursery or whatever your work for the Lord may be. So be steadfast and be unmovable because your labor is not in vain! Have a great day! Sherry
This is little two-year-old Kervenson. His father and his father’s “wife” brought him to our clinic today. He was barely breathing, dehydrated and severely malnourished. Apparently, Kervenson is the child of his father’s girlfriend who didn’t care about him, and the wife of the man didn’t care for him either. Our ambulance rushed him to the hospital, and in Haiti, a family member must stay with the child. We hope and pray his father and the woman will take care of him when he gets back home. It was sad, so very sad. Sherry
I just wanted to update everyone on my wish to make the 4:00 AM journey to Peyi Pouri. At 2:15 this morning, our driver came to the orphanage and said it was raining in the mountains and was too dangerous for us to go back up to the village of Peyi Pouri. But, Oriol Vatelia from Metro Management let me know that the food had made it before the rains came! We will plan another trip when the weather improves. However, we will tell you a great story about these people on YouTube in the near future. You won’t believe it! Sherry
“A teaching co-operative.” This is Rad Hazelip, our Love A Child Assistant Executive Director from the States, helping the Haitians to help themselves. He has come to Haiti to maintain the skills that the Haitians have already learned about the chicken co-op and raising chickens to sell. The group has to be able to sell their chickens and pay for their feed, security, gas for the water station, new chicks and much more. This is a continuation of business management training. Eventually, more Haitians will be included and this will help them make a good living. Food gives life. Jobs give hope! Sherry
By the time you read this, I will already be on top of the mountain in Peyi Pouri. Chris Baker, Oriol and Philemon, our driver, are going with me. Last night, we stood in Fond Parisien and looked straight up and Philemon said, “Madamn Sherry, do you see the top of that mountain where the road climbs straight up? That’s where you are going at 4:00 AM!” So, when you read this, I will already be sharing food with the poor, sweet Haitians. We want to take a mobile clinic to Peyi Pouri, but it is way too dangerous for teams. Love, Sherry
In the morning at 4:00, Sherry, Chris Baker, and Philemon will be leaving for a trip up a very high and dangerous mountain with just dirt trails to deliver food to some very poor people. I’ve tried to talk Sherry out of going and to wait for me to return next week, but she won’t listen. She is as stubborn as a mule. She said the poor people are starving to death and Oriol, our marketing director for the Grand Miracle Market and the others are waiting on her. I leave in the morning for Raleigh, NC, for our Love A Child luncheon on Saturday and service with Anniece Loudermilk on Sunday in Rocky Mount, NC. I will be back in Haiti by Monday morning. Please pray for Sherry and everyone’s safety going and coming back down the dangerous mountain tomorrow. Love is something you do! Bobby
