Toy donations for Christmas: 10-8-2014 6:00 PM

This is a wonderful opportunity for you to bring happiness at Christmas time to some very poor children in the Dominican Republic. As you know, there are many poor Haitians working in the sugar cane fields who live in filthy conditions, and there are many poor Dominican children as well. For $576, we can ship a donation of toys, valued at $6000, to our Love A Child warehouse in Fort Myers, Florida. From there, it will come on a container to Haiti. You can help by donating any amount, or if you would like to give all of this, please call Shar at 239-210-6107! You may also click here to give online. Thank you for making Christmas a blessing to so many poor children! We love you! Bobby and Sherry

Christemene: 10-8-2014 10:00 AM

“How poor is poor?” This is little Christemene who lives with her grandmother in Goat Mountain, Haiti. Christemene’s mother was pregnant with her when she found out that her father had been sent to prison. She became so distraught that she had a heart attack and died. Christemene now lives with her elderly grandmother who struggles to find food each day. Sometimes her grandmother only has “saltwater soup” for the whole day. Now that is poor! The Bible declares in Psalm 41:1 “Blessed is he that considereth the poor…” Sherry

Word from the Mission Field – 10-08-14

“The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” Luke 18:27 – What’s impossible in your life today? Turn it over to the Lord! God taught Sherry and me a very important lesson years ago. We should do everything that is possible and let God do the impossible! Bobby

Update on Missouka: 10-7-2014 4:00 PM

Missouka, a precious little Haitian girl, was brought to us a while ago with her left leg much shorter than the right leg. The diagnosis appears to be Proximal Femoral Focal Deficiency. We were so happy to find several organizations that offered to help with her prosthesis. We felt that Mission of Hope was closer to us for the many trips back and forth that it might take. On Monday, our Clinic Administrator Barbara took her to be fitted by Amy for an Ankle-Foot Orthosis. She will return in a few days to try her new prosthesis! God is good!!! Sherry

Street Children of Haiti: 10-7-2014 8:30 AM

Street children of Haiti are receiving hot meals every day because of the love of God. This can only happen when we all partner together to change and save lives. We are thankful to Feed My Starving Children for their food donations each month. We are also thankful to our Love A Child partners for sponsoring the food to travel to Haiti so that we can share it with other great missionaries like Helen. She picks up street children who wash cars while living on the streets. She also feeds them and cares for them through an organization called Development for Freedom International. Wow! When we partner together great things happen! Love and blessings, Sherry

Elijah Update – 10-06-14

Durkje, one of our missionaries, Barbara, our medical administrator, and I went to see Elijah in the hospital this afternoon. We were able to talk with a visiting neurologist from the States, and we also talked to the Haitian neurologist who did his surgery. Elijah is “holding his own.” He will have some tests tomorrow and stay on antibiotics for two more weeks. Then, the “team” of neurologists from the States will come in to do shunt surgeries and make a decision about him. So far, we think he is blind and deaf, but we cannot be certain. Thank you for your prayers. Sherry

Sharing Food with Orphelinat Notre-Dame: 10-6-2014 9:45 AM

Thank you to all our partners for helping us feed hungry children here in Haiti. God has really laid it upon our hearts to feed more children than we ever have before.

Thank you for sponsoring the food that comes to Haiti. You make it possible to share it with the many poor orphanages and feeding programs such as Orphelinat Notre-Dame du Perpetuel Secours, run by Reverend Father Bourdeau Jonel. When you eat your next meal, think of these children and how you have blessed them with food. Thank you! Bobby and Sherry
