“Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.” Proverbs 21:13 – We knew of a very rich pastor from the States who would come to Haiti and ask to stay with us. He wanted to come to Haiti, but he never wanted to see or hear about the poor or help them in any way. He never knew that he was refusing Jesus every time he shut his heart. Today, his ministry has gone down and he no longer brags about his wealth. Sherry
Despeezo Crusade 05-08-14
We finished our Mobile Medical Clinic in the voodoo village of Despeezo today. The volunteer team did a fantastic job. We closed the clinic just after noon and took a quick break. Then, we all gathered under the voodoo tree in the village and began praising the Lord. Our friend and former witchdoctor Fre Do Do came to share the Word of God with the people of Despeezo village. We could see the witchdoctor of the village sitting in his doorway listening to Fre Do Do. After the crusade, Fre Do Do went over to share Christ with the witch doctor. He wasn’t able to win him to the Lord, but a seed was planted. Sherry
Despeezo Mobile Medical Clinic – Day 3
Today is day three of our Mobile Medical Clinic in the village of Despeezo. There are more people today than the hundreds who came each of the previous two days. It is unbelievable how desperate Haitians are for medical care. Thank you for your help making this possible for these poor Haitian people. – Bobby, Sherry, and the entire Volunteer Medical Team
Thought from Bobby 05-08-14
When the woman who raised me took me before the judge, she and her psychiatrist tried to have me put in the same insane asylum as my mother. My pastor told me to be sure to take a good lawyer with me. I said to my pastor, “I am taking Jesus and my big family Bible with me!” The woman who had raised me asked the judge, “Who in their right mind carries around a big family Bible?” After they tried to make the judge believe that I was insane and after I spoke before the judge, here is what he had to say, “Mr. Robert Burnette, I wish this world had what you have. This case is dismissed!” PTL! We are crazy for Jesus and we are fools for Christ! We are not ashamed of Jesus Christ! We are still working on our book. Bobby
Marketplace Update 05-07-14
We are “rocking and rolling” here in Haiti. The Grand Miracle Market is going up piece by piece through a lot of hard work. Many Haitian lives will be changed forever, and they will find dignity and hope. We are helping Haitians to help themselves. Thank you Pastor Jentezen Franklin for partnering with us. Bobby
Despeezo Missions Team
The mobile medical team started seeing patients before 9 AM this morning. We saw hundreds yesterday and expect to see hundreds more today in the voodoo village of Despeezo. We are sharing the love of Christ. “Love is something you do.” Bobby
Thought from Bobby 05-07-14
When I was just two weeks old, my mother was taken away to an insane asylum and she lived there for 21 years. I had to live with someone else who was awful to me. When I was 16 years old, I was kicked out on the street because I had given my heart to Jesus. The lady that I had been living with took me before a judge in Orlando, Florida to have me declared insane like my mother. I will share more of this story tomorrow. Bobby
Despeezo Clinic 05-06-14
Today we were in the “regions beyond” with a Love A Child volunteer team. We traveled some very treacherous roads to get to the voodoo village of Despeezo. We set up a mobile medical clinic right under the voodoo tree in the middle of the village. We provided medical care for hundreds, and later in the afternoon, we fed them a hot meal. Thank you all for helping Love A Child reach the poorest of the poor. Bobby and Sherry
Despeezo Mobile Clinic
After two flat tires and going through endless miles of mud and water, we finally made it to Despeezo for our Mobile Medical Clinic. All of our Love A Child volunteers are holding up well with the dangerous travel. Many poor Haitians will stand in line for hours with their children just to be seen. Love is something you do. Bobby
Word from the Mission Field 05-06-14
I have learned two important things in life and ministry. 1. The decision you make today will affect your future tomorrow. 2. Our friends will affect our future. Each friendship will either grow weeds or flowers around us. Bobby
