“Standing in the Gap”

“And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” (Ezekiel 22:30)

A person that “stands in the gap” for someone can deter the wrath of God on their life, giving that person a chance to repent. My father got my mother pregnant by force when she was a young lady in the 12th grade. My grandmother was old fashioned in her beliefs and made my mother marry him. She had four more children. But during that time, she gave her heart to the Lord!

For many years she was married to an alcoholic who could not keep a job. As my father grew older, her prayers were that “one day” he would give his heart to Jesus! He was in his late 80’s, but one day, he finally gave his heart to the Lord. My mother had “stood in the gap.” She kept the death angel from coming to get him until he would accept Jesus.

Today, God may use you to “stand in the gap” for that one soul. Say “yes” to Jesus! Have a blessed day and always be willing to “stand in the gap” for that one soul.

We are so proud of Kidney!

He passed his first two years of college and graduated! He will continue for two more years! He is studying computer technology! We are sad that we could not attend! There are gangs between us and the colleges our older children attend, but they understand! Kidney will go far in his life!

We got Kidney when he was very young. His mother died and his father could not care for him. He began showing signs of malnutrition, so we took him in. Kidney has a wonderful and kind heart! We are so proud of him and look forward to his next “four-year” graduation as a computer specialist! Again, we are so, so proud of Kidney!!!

Petit Goave Prison

Matthew 25:35-40

In the prison in the south of Haiti in Petit Goave, there are 605 hungry prisoners, of which 147 are severely malnourished, and many are on the brink of death.

Several have already died in this prison in the last few months. God has placed it on our hearts to tackle the task of feeding all 605 prisoners every day. Thank you for standing with us and making all this possible.

Thank you for making a difference. Love is something you do!

Drawing a “Line in the Sand!”

Nowadays, it is becoming more and more difficult to “draw a line in the sand.”

Our school children have cell phones, TikTok, etc., television, and much more to draw them into things of Satan. Even good children face things that we never had to face!! We cannot give in to Satan! We must stand firm on God’s Word, with wisdom, in love, and with an understanding heart!

The Lord is telling us to make a stand… “Joshua had to make a stand also! It wasn’t easy, but he said these words, “as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15

Today, you may think that your children will not be tempted. There are “lying spirits” that will tell them, “It’s ok; it’s just a drug.” or, “It’s OK, you won’t get pregnant!” or “It’s OK, you can try just a little bit!”

No! You cannot allow Satan to have to your children! “as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!”

If you will set your heart to say this and believe it, the Lord God will watch over and protect your children!!” we thank God for His Word!

Toma, Deep in the Mountains!

(Please take time to view the pictures.)

When I arrived there this morning, I cried. The mass number of people who were desperate for food touched our hearts. 1,000 families received enough food for two weeks. Thank you, Farmer John and Victor Marx, for the six pieces of chicken for each family. Thank you to all our orphan children who worked for days bagging the food that included, rice, beans, cornmeal, sugar, spices, noodles, spaghetti, chicken, and so much more. Thank you to our Haitian sons who put all this together, along with Pastor Souffrance. Thank you to our partners who made all this possible. Thank you, Jesus!! Love is something you do!

She “Looks Like” an Attorney!

We are so proud of Lovely. We heard about this baby who had been abandoned by her father after her mother died. Lovely was a very sick baby, and we felt that we needed to take her in.

She has struggled with a major disease since she was born, but God is going to heal her and use her life!

After she finished her 13th grade, Philo, she felt that her calling would be different than she had imagined! Lovely wants to be an attorney to defend the poor!

She has finished her first year, and we know that God’s hand is upon her life! Please keep Lovely in your prayers! God will use her life!

We all love her so much.

“Joy Comes to the People of Thoma…”

Several weeks ago, the poor people of the village of Ganthier were invaded by the “gangs” of Haiti. The families grabbed their babies and children and their only cooking pot and fled to the mountains of Thoma. (Thoma is several hours in the mountains from us!!) The families had slept under trees, in school yards, and with relatives. Their biggest problem was “food.”

Our food containers carrying “Feed My Starving Children” meals were stuck in the Dominican Republic. We knew we “had to do something!” With the help of our partners, we bought “tons of food” locally… beans, rice, cooking oil, spaghetti, macaroni, sugar, coffee, and much more.

Our own Love A Child kids spent days packing the food and getting it ready for the big “food blessing” to those living in the mountains of Thoma. (We want to thank Farmer John for donating frozen chicken sponsored by Victor Marx’s organization!)

Today, we took many heavy-duty trucks (including two named “George and Martha”) and headed up to Thoma! Pastor Souffrance had already been there and given each poor, hungry mother a “food ticket!”

There were 1,000 mothers lined up waiting for huge bags of food and the box of frozen chicken!

It was an amazing “gift from God!”

We want to thank the “best partners” God could ever give us… “you!”

You made the difference! May God bless you back according to Psalms 41:1-3…

“Blessed is he that considereth the poor!”

Thank you so much on behalf of the poor.

“But He knoweth the way that I take: and when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” Job 23:10

It’s hard, sometimes, to go through a trial, especially when you cannot “feel His presence.”

Job was a great and humble man of God and God had given him great riches and wealth. But God “put him to the test.” In one day, Job lost his 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, all his 500 yoke of oxen, and 500 donkeys to the Sabeans. Immediately after that, fire fell from Heaven and burned up all his sheep and his servants, then, the Chaldeans came in and took his camels, and killed his servants. But that’s not all, his “seven sons and three daughters“ were killed when his house collapsed. And that’s not all, God allowed Satan to “test him even more.” Job was struck with boils from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet! And if that wasn’t enough, he had a “nagging wife, who had no pity for Job.” (That was the worst part!)

You may be going through a test today, but you will come forth as pure gold, just like Job. God’s not mad at you, He loves you! He is just testing you, and you will pass the test! Have a blessed day.

WOW, WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY!!

Today, plat du jour in the prison in Anse a Veau was corn meal and bean sauce. After a nutritious meal, 273 prisoners were served freshly squeezed fruit juice to top off the meal! The Haitians often like to scrape the bottom of the pot for the “gratin,” the burned corn or rice at the bottom, so the pot was brought near the bars so they could have a dessert of gratin! The inmates were so grateful for their daily meal provided by Love A Child. May the Lord be praised! Thank you for your prayers and continued support. We are doing this together, making an impact for Christ! I am so happy, thank you. I would like to encourage you to read Matthew 25:35-40. Together, we are doing this unto Jesus himself. Love is something you do! Bobby Burnette
