Jonas… We found Jonas in the mountains during a “Food Distribution.” After we finished feeding the hungry children, our eyes caught a glimpse of a thin, dirty, little boy, working in the hot sun, with grown men. We went to talk to him, but he kept looking around as if someone was going to beat him!
Sure enough, there was a big woman yelling at him! We knew immediately that Jonas was a “restavek” child. His parents died and so he had to go live with a relative, who made him work all day and never let him go to school! When we took in Jonas, “he could not hold a pencil!” We hired a schoolteacher to work with him, but it was nearly a year until “he could hold a pencil” or a “piece of chalk!”
Jonas is older than the children in his class, but he is determined to make it to the sixth grade! He is quiet, sweet, and hardworking! He is a “jewel!” Pray for Jonas and God’s Hand upon his life.
Many of our “Love A Child” kids, who grew up in our orphanage, love to help the poor, especially the poor children. They know what it is like to be hungry.
Dieuferly was born with double clubfoot and was malnourished when we brought him down from the mountains. George and Stephanie are “brother and sister,” and we got both of them when their mother was sick and near death.
This is Dieuferly with his camera. He helps with our Television Programs with his drone shots, camera work, etc.!
Both George and Stephanie have taken in babies whose mothers could not care for them! They are “Giving Back” for all that the Lord has done for them!
Stephanie works for us in accounting! She is responsible for paying all our employees. George handles any heavy equipment problems and also helps with Food Distributions! (He’s been driving heavy equipment since he was twelve, and we never knew it!)

God cannot help the poor unless He uses you and me! He speaks to His children in that “still small voice.” We see that poor mother in the grocery store, with her little children. She does not have enough money for what little bit of food she has bought… so in order for God to bless her, He must use one of His children, like you and I!
We hear the Lord saying, “Withhold not good from them to whom it is due when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. Say not unto thy neighbor, ‘Go and come again, and tomorrow I will give;’ when thou hast it by thee.” – Proverbs 3:27-28
The Lord smiles down upon us… as if to say, “That’s my child!” Always listen to the still, small voice!
He has had to deal with severe medical problems since we brought him to our orphanage. We met Jackson during a Mobile Medical Clinic in the mountains of Haiti. He had the most severe case of malnutrition I had ever seen! Jackson had been living with relatives since his parents had died, and the relatives who kept him fed him the wrong kinds of food.
When we found him, he was probably about ten and his belly was full of water. We brought him to our orphanage and began the long, difficult job of saving his life!
We are thankful for a donor partner who bought a portable dialysis machine for Jackson. He is on dialysis every night until morning. A nurse has to be with him each night. He is on a special diet and we have to send pictures of each meal to his doctor!
Jackson is short and looks like he is 12 but he is 17! He won’t get any taller. (He cannot play soccer or outdoor games with the other children.) Jackson just started school for this year. He is in 9th grade. Each day God gives him is a miracle!
Thank you got your love and prayers! Special thanks to his sponsors who have been helping with his medical needs. “God is such a Provider!”
“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.” 1 Corinthians 3:11-13
Our foundation in our life is everything. Jesus Christ is our foundation. When the fire, wind, storms, the trials of this life come our way, we shall stand, because our foundation is Jesus Christ.
I remember back in 2010, when the earthquake struck Haiti killing 300,000 people… I was upstairs in our Love A Child Children’s Home. Our 21,500 sq. ft. Children’s Home shook like it was paper. Sherry was over in a nearby village. The earthquake passed and our Children’s Home was still standing! We never had one crack in our walls!! We had a firm foundation… Jesus is our foundation!
Heavy rain hit our area in Fond Parisien, causing severe mud, making it impossible for cars, trucks, motos, and children walking to school to get through the mud!
Kenson and his orphanage brother, George, came to the rescue with our heavy-duty equipment and “saved the day!” They spent all day clearing mud and debris from the road and “saved the day!”
Kenson is sweet and quiet and doesn’t say much but he really works hard! He is always with us, helping with food distributions, “hard work!”
Kenson was brought to our orphanage when his mother and father had died. He was very young and hardly said a word! He is still very shy but he’s always ready to work and “get his hands dirty!”
The money has been wired to start the daily feeding of the second prison in Petit-Goâve, Haiti. The prisoners have been starving to death. The Haitian Government does not give the prison food.
This is a two-story prison with over 500 prisoners. Most of these prisoners have minor expenses like stealing food or owing a small amount of money to someone. Hubert and our Love A Child staff will be preparing, cooking, and serving the meals daily to the prisoners sharing the love of Christ. Thank you, Hubert, and the staff in South Haiti.
Monthly cost to feed Petit-Goâve Prison: $26,000
Monthly cost to feed Anse-à-Veau Prison: $10,000
Thank you to our partners for making this possible and for your continued support. Love is something you do!
“Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? Or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? Or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” Matthew 25: 37-40
These words are so powerful… when we do these things to someone, we are actually doing it unto Jesus Himself! Love is something you do!
