Have you ever had a dream, a vision, or a plan that God has given you for the future? Can you see yourself doing something you have never done before, but you still “get the feeling” that somehow, someday, you will be doing something “completely different,” because God has given you a “dream?” When I say a “dream,” I am not talking about something weird that you have dreamed of… But it is something that has been in your heart that you can see yourself doing, and the “seed” has already been planted. God has given you a dream.
Now, you must realize that no matter what God has called you to do, it won’t come easy. There will be times when you may feel like “giving up,” but don’t be discouraged. God never “wastes a seed” that He has put in your heart!
Joseph had several “dreams.” God had given him the gift of “interpretation,” but, while he was a teenager, he dreamed dreams but could not yet understand them… His big mistake “was telling his dream to the wrong people.”
“And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.” Genesis 37:5
Don’t let anyone or anything “steal your dream.” Keep your eyes on the Lord and be careful of whom you share things with. Your dream might not come to pass “overnight,” but if God has promised it to you, He WILL bring it to pass. Have a great day!
When the 2010 earthquake hit, we found ourselves bringing in those children whose orphanages had collapsed. We loved Jean Richard from the start. He was a devout Christian, kind, gentle, and never felt sorry for himself.
When he graduated from Philo (the 13th year in Haiti), we found out about a “special needs” college here in Haiti. He took a “four-year course” in music and computer technology. It looks like he will be teaching computer technology to our high school students at our Love A Child School. He also teaches music to our other children. We all love Jean Richard!
Sherry
P.S. Jean Richard has a “three-wheeled bike” that he has had for many years. It is breaking down all the time. If you feel that God is speaking to your heart to sponsor a new “three-wheeled bike” for Jean Richard, please contact our Love A Child office at: (239) 210-6107. Thank you all for your love and prayers.
“When a Haitian lays down to sleep at night, fearlays down beside him,” this is a Haitian proverb.
Fear has gripped the hearts of the Haitian people like we have never seen! Over 700,000 Haitian families have been displaced and run out of their homes by the gangs. 2,000 families alone, from the community Ganthier, just 8 minutes from Love A Child. This week, a gang went into a village area called, “Ponds Sonde,” killing 70 people with many children among them. They committed genocide in the worst way. Sherry and I have been through Ponds Sonde many times. The gangs are growing in power and taking more territory every day.
We are thankful for our security and community brigade who protects Love A Child and the whole community. On Wednesday, the gangs were near our buffer zone, but they were stopped dead in their tracks.
Through all of this, we have not closed or stopped anything we have been doing, but actually growing and expanding, helping every Haitian we can. With the help of our partners, we will be giving out more food than we ever had before the end of the year. Children and families are hungry. Thank you for your prayers and continued support.
“With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
You may be going through an impossible situation with your husband, children, business, or personal problem. God is bigger! With God, all things are possible! God is a mountain mover! God said to cast your mountain into the sea! (Mark 11:23)
Sherry and I left Haiti this morning, traveling by car to the Santo Domingo Airport. We just landed in Miami on our way to North Carolina, landing in Raleigh at midnight. We will return to Haiti this coming week. Our hearts and prayers go out for all the families in North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and other affected areas. Praying for our friends. Thank you for your prayers.
The kids have always called her “krapo,” which means frog because she has big eyes! (Nicknames for Haitian children are common and the kids don’t get offended by it!) She and her two siblings were brought to us by her aunt. We were told that her parents were trying to reach the U.S. by “Haitian boat” when it capsized! We were told that they both died. Bianca is quiet and “always reading!” She is in college here in Haiti studying psychology. She has always wanted to help those who suffer from mental illness or “heart problems caused by stress.” She has just finished her first year of college. Bianca, like all our Haitian children, really loves the Lord. They are all thankful to “you,” our friends and partners who care about them.
Two days ago, you wouldn’t have thought this was the same boy! Jackson’s blood pressure was high, and he was vomiting. The doctors wanted him to have complete bed rest all day long so they could determine how he was doing.
Two nurses from our Birthing Center had to take turns with him checking his blood pressure every two hours. That was tough because he was afraid he would be too sick for school. (School starts Monday here in Haiti.)
With prayer, he made it and is doing well. Jackson will be in junior high school. He had to repeat a class last year because he was not doing well…
We will keep you posted with a picture of Jackson in school.
Thank you to our partners who have helped with his expensive medical needs!
Bobby and Sherry embark on a perilous journey to the remote village of Port Glacie, where they must cross a vast lake by boat to bring desperately needed food to the community. In this isolated village, they hear the heartbreaking stories of children whose struggles intensify as the turmoil in Haiti worsens. With gangs taking control of much of the country, the villagers live in fear, cut off from basic necessities. Despite these daunting challenges, Bobby and Sherry bring hope and relief, showing that even in the darkest times, compassion and faith can make a profound difference.

“The Kindness of God…” II Samuel Chapter 9: “We serve a loving God, who wants to take care of the poor. He uses His children to do this…”
In II Samuel, we read about David again. He has already won many battles and God is getting ready to bless him even more. His enemy, Saul, who had chased David for years trying to kill him, had been wounded in battle and died. But in II Samuel 9:1, David’s heart is grieved for Saul, his main enemy, who is dead. David wants to do “something good” for the household of his greatest enemy, Saul, and for the household of Jonathan, Saul’s son, who had also died in battle.
He asks his people, “Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may show the ‘the kindness of God’ to him?” You know the answer… Jonathan had a son, who was lame on both feet, “Mephibosheth.” You know the answer… David brought this crippled young man into his castle, and had him eat at the King’s table, as his own son! David hired men to take care of the land that “Mephibosheth” had and blessed this crippled young man, all the days of his life!
We all need “the kindness of God” in our lives! Have a blessed day!
We first heard about Lovely through a lady named, “Mdm. Cheap Cheap!” (Maybe some of you who have been to Haiti know of her or have bought Haitian items from her.) She had told us about a baby that had been abandoned, and one of her parents had a disease that was not treatable at that time. We saw baby “Lovely” and “fell in love with her!”
Lovely has had major health problems all her life but she is strong in the Lord! While at our orphanage a couple years ago, she was with the children in our dining room and all of a sudden, the spirit of God came upon her, and she jumped up on the table and started preaching a “Word from the Lord!” In that message, she felt that the Lord would heal her “in His time!” I have never seen that happen before! Lovely is studying to become “a lawyer for the poor!” We are so proud of her! Thank you, Partners!
