Word from the Mission Field

“He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.” Deuteronomy 32:4 — Have you ever been in a situation where you caught yourself saying, “Maybe God made a mistake.” Perhaps God called you to do something that you think you are incapable of doing, or you are on the wrong job, or you made a move that doesn’t seem right. God never makes a mistake. He has a time and purpose for everything, and if “we” make a mistake, He can get us back on the road. His “GPS” is the best in the world. Have you ever heard your GPS say, “Turn around. You are going the wrong way. Take a U-turn.” God tells us that through His Holy Spirit. Trust Him. He never makes a mistake! Have a great day! Sherry

Praying for “God’s Best”

Today, our driver, Philemond, is headed back from the Dominican Republic with Jasson. For those of you who don’t know Jasson, he is the little boy we found during a Mobile Medical Clinic in the mountains of Savann Pit, years ago. He had severe Kwashiorkor Malnutrition, which brought on kidney damage. He has been back and forth to doctors here in Haiti and in the Dominican Republic.

This past week, Philemond took Jasson to the Dominican Republic where they met Jesse Ostrander. Jasson had many appointments, blood tests, etc. to get him ready for dialysis. This weekend, Philemond will be taking Jasson and two of our nurses, Jovanie and Phanise, back to the Dominican Republic to meet with Jesse, and they will learn the dialysis machine while Jasson is having his treatments. After three weeks, they will come back here to Haiti to our Love A Child Children’s Home, where Jasson will have dialysis every night until God gives a better plan. We are hoping that Jasson will be healed or be able to become a kidney recipient. We ask your prayers for “God’s best” for Jasson.

Feeding the Children in the Middle of Nowhere

This morning, we told you about the people who live in the area called “Boulay.” It is up a ways from Fond Parisien, but it is actually in a riverbed!

The people who live here are always afraid of a flash flood, so they all have a tiny little flashlight in case of floods.

These are their children… little boys and girls and toddlers, living in this place that is a “no man’s land.” They loved the nice big bowls of “Feed My Starving Children” food and a special sauce with all kinds of fish! Yum! They sat patiently while all the children received their food, and then we prayed, and they ate that nice big bowl of food.

Thank you, partners, for making this possible. Many of these children did not even eat anything yesterday… so imagine how hungry they were! Thank you so much for your gifts, large and small, and the widow’s mite!

When we went there, we “took you with us!”

Love,
Bobby and Sherry

Blessings Come to Boulay, Haiti

The area is called “Bois-des-Mieux,” but the locals call it Boulay. If there ever was a village in the “middle-of-no-where,” it is Boulay! There are no buildings, no mud huts, no trees, nothing… Yet, the inhabitants here live in the middle of this abandoned “dry riverbed.” Actually, they all sleep on the ground with a small flashlight, in case of a “flash flood” from the mountains.

They had never had anyone come to bring them food. So, we gave out 200 tickets to mothers who came to get food. We also fed the children in this area. It was amazing, because we fed the children under a ripped, dirty tarp, and there were about 150 children. The people said, “this is our school!” Pictures are coming later with the children eating. Yum!

There are no trees in the village, no fruit trees, and nothing to eat. So, everyone goes to the dry rocky riverbed, and they crush piles of rocks to get food.

We brought one lady back who had a blind husband and three children. She was so sick, so anemic that she could hardly stand… So, we brought her back with us and took her to our Jesus Healing Center Clinic. We will see how we can help her.

We wish to thank our partners, who give little, what they have, our widows, and those who give more… When we put all our “sacrifices” together, we can do more for the Lord and we can feed more hungry children!

Thank you so much, partners, for your giving!!! Today, again, you planted in “good soil!”

We love you,
Bobby and Sherry

LAC TV Program “The Struggle of the Poor” Begins Friday!

Bobby and Sherry travel to Mon Oreg for the first time to deliver food and the love of God; while there, they happen upon a child with one of the most heartbreaking, life-threatening injuries they’ve ever encountered. Parents leave their young children at home alone while they look for work; left to take care of themselves, they suffer injuries that cannot be addressed in the mountains. These children look on helplessly as their parents cry, ashamed that they can’t provide for the basic needs of the family. Your assistance means we can deliver food and healthcare to these desperate villages.

We want to invite viewers around the world to tune in on Friday to Daystar Television Network at 6:30 p.m. (ET) and then throughout the week. You can also watch us on DirecTV, DISH Network, Christian Television Network, The Word Network, NRB, and many more local television stations. Check out our full schedule for the best way for you to tune in. You can also watch the program online through our Vimeo and YouTube channels or on our website www.loveachild.com under the “Media” tab.

Together we are changing lives!

“When to Give…”

Some people have a hard time trying to figure out when to give, but that is why God put “that heart within you.” He knows you will follow your heart. “Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.” (Proverbs 3:27-28) It’s not hard to figure out when to give. Just follow the heart that God has placed within you. Listen “with your heart,” and you will hear the “cry of the poor.”

Jean Edwouard… the Entrepreneur

We first met Jean Edwouard when he was about five or six. He is from the old Village of Letant, not far from us. Jean Edwouard had fallen into a “big hole” in Haiti, that thousands of children here fall into.

He was a restavek slave child. This happens when a child loses both parents and has to go live with relatives. They have then entered into an “invisible prison” that many can never break out of. They will be children, working as adults, but never going to school or enjoying the life of a child.

When we realized that this little boy was hauling water, making a fire, and cooking food for a family, at this young age of six, we decided we could not abandon him!!! That’s the day his life changed when I told him I was taking him home!

Jean Edwouard had never ridden in a machine, so his ride in a big truck with lots of white people must have been scary! He grew and did well in school! We noticed he was sewing things in his spare time. He wanted to be a tailor! He is finishing his school year and has already started a “sewing business.”

We want to thank World Vision for all the pallets of brand new material they donated that we gave to many organizations! And, some went to Jean Edwouard for his “sewing business!” Thank you so much, World Vision!!! We love partnering with you.

Delicious Meals to Fill Children’s Stomachs

Bawo is one of the poorest areas in the south of Haiti where we are building the Gabion houses for the hurricane victims. Thank you, Hubert and your team, and our Love A Child representatives for bringing food to these children. They were so happy to receive these hot delicious meals! I was told this morning that we are almost completely out of food. We must purchase this food in south Haiti at the port.

Our trucks cannot travel there due to the gangs between us and them. Thankfully once you get to where we are building the houses and feeding everyone, there are no gangs in that area. I’m believing the Lord to purchase on Monday at the port in south Haiti beans, rice, and cooking oil for the people… By faith, the Lord will supply. Thank you for your support.

Masked Bandits?

No, Ha! We received a large amount of masks from “We – Mask Makers.” Our friends, William and Ernestine, have made “custom-made” masks during the pandemic. They sent us quite a few and although we are not required to wear masks here in Haiti, we can always use masks!!!

These are just some of our Love A Child workers… Abdias, Breezy, Patricia, and Job – all work in our Food Distribution Center, but other workers always help when needed! We have the best partners God could give us! We receive all kinds of things that help us do our job here in Haiti! Thank you, William and Ernestine!

THE MAN OF GOD SAID, “SHOOT THE ARROW OF DELIVERANCE!”
I GIVE YOU A WORD OF THE LORD TODAY, DELIVERANCE IS COMING!

Joash was the King of Israel. Elisha was laying on his bed sick. The King came down and wept over his face. The Syrians were about to defeat King Joash. “And Elisha said unto him, Take your bow and arrows […] And he put his hand upon it: and Elisha put his hands upon the king’s hands.” (2 Kings 13:15-16) Elisha told King Joash to open the window… and he said shoot. “And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the Lord’s deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.” (2 Kings 13:17) In the 20th verse, Elisha died and fell asleep in the Lord.

Study 2 Kings 13:14-20 and read this powerful story…

Today, open your window and shoot the arrow of deliverance! You may be surrounded by your enemy, troubles on every side. Be ready, deliverance is coming!!!!
