Pray for this young lady.

This young lady was walking to our clinic this morning. I was with some men pointing out some jobs that needed to be done around the compound when we spotted her passed out on the sidewalk. I ran to get the doctor and help. There was no time to get the ambulance, so we put her in the back of the Land Cruiser and rushed her to the clinic.

I thank God for our clinic. I thank God for our doctors and nurses who faithfully serve. Many have been stuck here for over a year without the ability to return home to see their families. But they have made the best of it. They are continuing to work, continuing to keep the clinic open, continuing to minister to people like this woman.

Please pray they revive her.

Word from the Mission Field

“Having the Last Word…”

Have you ever heard anyone say that… “Well, I got in the last word!”

“Having the last word” in a dispute or quarrel doesn’t mean “you won.” Proverbs 15:1 says, “A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.”

It is human nature to want to say, “Well, I got the last word in.” That doesn’t mean you have solved the problem. It doesn’t even mean “you were right.”

It just means you “poured gasoline on the wound.”

Even if you are talking to someone who hates you, if you leave them with a “soft word,” it not only turns away wrath but leaves them defenseless! That’s when Jesus “takes it from there!”

We love you.

Yolanda’s Emergency

Yolanda is one of two girls at the orphanage that I really depend on. She will let me know when they are low on eggs, or if the kids need new school shoes, or the boys need underwear, etc. Today, I got an “emergency request” from Yolanda. It was…  “Mom! This is an emergency! The kids are out of toilet paper!” There are no stores near us, and we can’t get money anywhere. There are no banks near us!! I guess you would call this an emergency if you had an orphanage full of kids!! Okay, I’ve got to find a quick solution to this emergency!!

Natalie… “She Thinks, ‘Success!'”

We all love Natalie! We have had her practically “all her life.” At the age of 14, she is growing into a sweet, beautiful young lady.

You will usually find Natalie in the kitchen! When she isn’t cooking, she’s cleaning and helping.

Natalie is usually quiet and shy unless she is in the same room as her ” rowdy sisters!” (They can be louder than the boys!)

She is still thinking about her life, but she loves little children and babies. You would think her favorite pastime would be “fingernail polish,” but she really loves her brothers’ “remote control cars” from last Christmas!

She will be in 9th grade this fall, and no matter what she chooses to do in the future, she will be a success! She thinks “success,” and she will find it!

Soccer Statement

The people in this area have made a determination to try to return to normalcy in spite of the chaos being perpetrated by the gangs. There have been no soccer games for several weeks because of the gangs. But yesterday, Miracle Village hosted a soccer match against La Source. Hundreds came out to cheer on their team. La Source won the game 3-2. But everyone who showed up to watch was the true winner. With resolve and solidarity they are proving that the gangs cannot have dominion over them. The soccer game was more than just a competition between two teams. It was a public statement that the people here would not give in to fear. Pray for these wonderful people. This area needs a mighty breakthrough. We need the gangs to be defeated. We need to return to normalcy. Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for praying!

BELLE ROCHE, SOUTH HAITI

A VERY TOUCHING STORY.

Psalm 27:10: “When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.”

Thirteen-year-old Christelle Edouard, along with her four younger brothers and sisters, were abandoned over four months ago in their one-room hut in a very remote place called Belle Roche, beautiful stone. After their father died, the mother was overwhelmed with the responsibility of taking care of five hungry children and, one day, “just disappeared!”

Hubert and the faithful Love A Child team went many miles over steep hills and long paths to carry rice, beans, and oil to provide everything to make food for the next couple of weeks. Hubert is willing to go the extra mile to reach the unreached!

Perhaps the Lord will lay this burden upon your heart today to help us feed Christelle’s little family.

We cannot even imagine what she goes through each day, knowing that her mother abandoned her and her siblings. She goes into town each day and “begs for food.” If the Lord has laid this story upon your heart, please listen and obey.

Thank you for your continued help. We need to take these children “under our arms” and make sure they get fed daily.

This story has saddened our hearts.

Love is something you do…

Word from the Mission Field

“The Door that God Opens.”

I cannot count the times when I prayed for God to “open the door.” Maybe you have prayed and asked God to “open a door.” This “open door,” we pray for, is sometimes for a financial blessing so we can pay a bill, or it may be for a better job, or it may be for another door, like an acceptance to college, etc.

We do not realize that when God blesses us, Satan gets jealous, and he will always try to sabotage this answer to prayer. He “hates it when God blesses us,” because he never wants Jesus to get the thanks, the Glory, and Praise for this miracle. Apostle Paul said, “For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.” 1 Corinthians 16:9

So, when you pray and ask the Lord to open the door, always remember to “load your prayer gun,” because Satan hates it when God blesses!! Let’s pray that “God will open a door,” that no one can shut, and that He sends His angels to watch over us! Have a great day!!

Agricultural Training Center Work Week:

This note below came in from Wilner Excil, the head of our Agriculture Training Center (ATC) Program. God blesses the seed we sow. It may take time, but the Lord will give an abundance. Good job Wilner and team. God bless the work of your hands. Thank you to our partners who helped with this sustainability project.
Bobby (Big Boss)

“Dear, Big Boss! I hope God always keeps us healthy. These pictures are some of the great work we have achieved this week.

2nd) We also watered the plants every morning.
3rd) We sprayed all the flowers to prevent insects from eating their flowers.
4th) We worked in soil preparation and compost in the ATC demonstration field.
5th) We planted sweet potatoes.
6th) We worked inside the plant house, changing the old pallets that were finished.
7th) We cut the grass (lawn) in front of the maternity ward (Birthing Center).
8th) We gave the goats food and water 2 times a day, and every day.

It was Well Worth the Trip!!

Years ago, we had made trips up the mountain of Haiti to one of the farthest areas, one of the most difficult trips, and one of the most remote Haitian villages we had ever worked in… a village called “Covant.” To get there we had to have “four-wheel drives,” traveling for miles “far up the mountain,” in the heat of the sun, up through the rocky river bed, for hours! We had to take our food, medicines, camping tents, etc., with us, enough for a week!

When our four-wheel drives could not make it any further, “mules were waiting for us!” These mules were not the friendliest creatures in Haiti because many times they tried to buck and kick us off! The whole trip up was long because there were not enough mules for everyone, so we would ride a short distance and get off or, “fall off” our mule, so someone else could ride!

We conducted a Mobile Clinic that week and on one day, encountered a poor Haitian lady with 8 children, no husband, and a very young child with “double club feet!” We brought that tiny, little guy, about three years old, back with us, down the treacherous mountains! At that time, the U.S. military was in Haiti. We found some military surgeons willing to do his “club feet surgery.”

After many surgeries, a lot of pain, and much prayer, Dieuferly began to walk! He was raised in our Orphanage. Today, he does camerawork for us, photography, and much more! In addition, he has his own business in Haiti, and “God’s blessings are upon his life!” He is humble, loves God, and loves the poor! He is a great asset to us, and no problem is too big for him! That “long trip up the mountain,” by four-wheel drive, by mule, and by foot, was well worth the trip!

Sustainability Heroes

The guys from the Agricultural Training Center are “sustainability heroes.” They are always in the fields. In the midst of this chaos, they continue to expertly plant, fertilize, water, and harvest many different types of produce. Bushels and bushels of food are generated from just seeds, water, and knowledge. They are a model for sustainability in Haiti.

Many people in this area reap the benefits of their hard work. The team was able to bless Pastor Claude’s orphanage with fresh fruit and veggies. It was a much-welcomed gift to our dear friend, from our Agricultural Training Center.
