Joshua… “Fearless and Doesn’t Miss a Thing”

Here’s Joshua with his garbage bag and his “brothers”! He and his siblings (and two dogs) go out every morning and collect any trash they find! (They all know that “Poppie Bobby” hates to see any papers or trash lying around!)

It takes about an hour to go around the property, especially with two dogs!! Joshua is always in the middle of something!

He was “abandoned at our front gate and left to die!” He was so sick and puny and cried constantly!!

It took months for him to get well, but it didn’t take long for him to talk!! Once he started talking, he wouldn’t shut up! Ha!
He will be eight and starts back to school on the first of September. He wants to be a Pilot! There’s never a dull moment when Joshua is near!

“He’s fearless and doesn’t miss a thing!”

FOOD IS COMING!

This morning, we distributed Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) meals in four areas to hundreds of people who were badly in need of food. We will also be doing this tomorrow.

Our orphan children have been bagging and working hard to prepare for our food distribution on Saturday. We bought rice, beans, fish, corn, cooking oil, noodles, and spaghetti. This is for 500 more new families that the gangs ran out of their homes in Ganthier, just eight miles from us.

They will receive two weeks’ worth of food for their families. Thank you for your financial support and prayers, which make all of this possible.

Love is something you do!

THREE PROMISES!

“He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.” Proverbs 22:9

“There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.” Proverbs 11:24-25

“He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.” Proverbs 28:27

God has a formula and it works!

Job… One of My Favorites!

This tall, lanky teenaged boy is so sweet and quiet. We are blessed to have him. His mother, Mdm. Viergelie, lived high in the mountains of Covant. She died during childbirth but managed to bear a son. When the pastor brought the baby boy to us, we named him Job.

Job is so tall that we “can’t keep him in britches!!” He loves basketball and bass guitar! About a year ago, Job developed a severe infection from his knee down to his foot! It was so bad that we had to take him to the hospital in the Dominican Republic! It was a tough year for Job, but he did well! He is now up and running! Job has been working with Martelly, our plumber. He will be a good one, too!! We love Job! He is sweet, kind, and respectful! You would love him too, if you could meet him!!

We are so glad the Lord sent him to us!

Haiti Updated News:

Happening Now:

All this week, our orphans will be bagging and preparing two weeks of food for the 500 new families from Ganthier who lost their homes to the gangs in Ganthier. This distribution will take place in Fond Parisien.

In Fond Parisien, many have been sleeping by the road, under trees, or anywhere else they can find.

Starting in the next few days, we will start feeding the prisoners in Anse-a-Veau a hot daily meal cooked and prepared by Hubert and his Love A Child staff in south Haiti. Thank you, Hubert.

Love is something you do!

In a small yard of poor Haitians in the south of Haiti called La Source, 69 children came from every direction when they heard a hot meal was being prepared for them.

Our diligent Love A Child team identified this remote and forgotten village and set up everything needed to cook a nutritious meal for 69 hungry stomachs. Feeling loved and cared for by God’s people leaves an everlasting impression on a neglected child.

Please pray about what God would have you give right now to help enable Love A Child to continue to reach the unreached poor children of Haiti.

A Missionary’s Prayer…

“Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High. What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.” Psalm 56:2-4

“When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me. In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word. In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.” Psalm 56:9-11

We are living in Haiti by the Grace of God. We ALL need to put our trust in Him.

Have a blessed day.

Zoey…

Zoey is five, going on fifty! She has a “grown-up” mind, but she is just five. She is the youngest girl here, and she is “all girl!”

She only has the older girls to “hang out with.” Since there is no school now and no other little girls near here, Zoey was abandoned on the gravel road to Letant over five years ago. We were going to send her to Social Services, but they were full and could not take in any more children. So, we fortunately got “stuck with her!” Ha!

Zoey is very mature, intelligent, and doesn’t let her brothers “push her around.” Ha! She has been involved in Praise Dances since she could walk! She acts much older than a five-year-old! She thinks about what she is going to do in the future! We all love Zoey!!

Life in our Orphan’s Home!

When you live in an orphan home with a little over 100 people, it’s an experience! Life is never boring, ha!

It’s a joy to be with all the children and watching them grow up. They will keep you young or wear you out, ha!

We have three washing machines, but still not enough. Much of the clothes have to be washed by hand, the old-fashioned way. The ladies work very hard. Even some of the children help. Wait until you see Zoey washing clothes by hand for the 6:00 pm post tonight!

The Agricultural Training Center (ATC) guys brought up more fresh vegetables. They love me taking their pictures.

Love is something you do!!

Trusting in the Lord.

“Delight thyself also in the Lord, and He shall give thee the desires of your heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.” Psalms 37:4 & 5

Let the Lord give you the desires of your heart, delight yourself in the Lord… we commit our way unto you Lord, and you will bring it to pass. This is a wonderful scripture.
