Widlene and her sister, Esther, came to our orphanage with their mother years ago. Their mother, Mdm. Jesula, could no longer take care of two children after her husband left. This is the “saddest story” of life in Haiti. There are very few jobs a young woman can find, and with two children, it is almost impossible. We felt “led of the Lord” to take in Mdm. Widlene’s sister, Esther, is in college now here in Haiti, and Widlene went to college to become a professional cook!! She often works at the older boys’ restaurant, “Fresh Foods.” (Those boys were raised in our orphanage too.) Widlene has a “passion for cooking!” She loves it!!! Now, we must pray that the Lord will send her a good husband!! Ha!!
