This is Pastor Claude Mondesir. We have known him for over 15 years here in Haiti, and there is not a sweeter, more hard-working, and more honest Pastor that we know of. We love him with all our hearts!

He recently moved his large orphanage from Leogane, Haiti. Several years ago, his orphanage in Leogane was flooded during a disaster, and several of his children almost lost their lives. They were so afraid that they could no longer sleep in that orphanage. From there, he moved the children to LaTramble, which is about 15 miles from us, but after a short time, the gangs in the area began to take over. One night, Pastor Claude and his men had to sleep in front of the gate with guns to protect the children. The children were in constant fear.

Pastor Claude had a beautiful piece of land near Love A Child, so we encouraged him to bring his children from Leogane and LaTramble to Fond Parisien, where we could be close to him and help him with any needs.

When Pastor Claude moved on to the land, there was nothing there. But, thanks to David George Worldwide Ministries, Love A Child, and many other partners, we all worked together and helped Pastor Claude build this huge project on the land. He has an orphanage, a Christian school, a motel for teams (which includes a swimming pool that he built); he has housing for workers, a large garden, and some of Haiti’s best land.

The problem is that now, Pastor Claude’s health is deteriorating. He wants to “go and preach the gospel” before he dies. He needs a church from the states to sponsor his work and a Christian couple, missionaries, to live on his land and run the orphanage.

He built the huge “guest house” with a swimming pool to bring in “income” to support his work, but his health is so bad that he cannot manage everything.

In short, he needs a church in the states to take over this work and support it. His average expense each month is about $8,000 US. But, if teams came from the states (when safe) or Haitian Pastors hosted seminars here, it would help offset the cost.

If you know of a large church that has a burden for missions and wants to sponsor this project, please contact us, and we will put you in touch with Pastor Claude.

Sherry and I already have our hands full now, overwhelmed, and we cannot take on any more responsibility for orphan children. If you know of a church and Pastor interested, please get in touch with us. Let’s all pray that this can happen for Pastor Claude, who feels it is “urgent’ for him to go and preach the gospel before he goes to be with the Lord. We fully stand with Pastor Claude. He is such a great man of God, with the most humble spirit that we have ever seen. Please pray about this need.
