Political Thievery in Haiti

There is nothing sweeter than little Haitian children having a big plate of food to eat, especially at this time, when famine is rampant in Haiti. In many areas of the country, Haiti is experiencing hunger and famine. This is partly caused by the effect of the coronavirus, but much of it is “political.” There are “gangs” in many areas of Haiti, robbing the poor and causing many problems…so that the poor mothers cannot get to market to sell and make money.

Another problem is the ratio of the U.S. dollar against the Haitian dollar (gourde). When we first came to Haiti, it was “dollar for dollar.” Over the years, the Haitian dollar lost its value, and now, it means that prices of food are much, much higher. Most Haitians have not had any beans for months and months.

Because of our wonderful partners, we were able to buy a container of mega rice and also fresh tilapia fish. We shared this with over 90 other missionary organizations who also had children…One of the missionaries said, “When your people gave, their giving was multiplied 90 times to other missionaries!”

You planted seed in good soil when you gave! Thank you!

We will soon be distributing rice and beans and will let you know about that miracle! We bless brother Jean Marc at Hope for Life Children’s Home (pictures above) and pray that God continues to bless him! Thank you, partners! Bobby and Sherry
