Poul Mirak - Love A Child’s sustainability programs in Haiti

Poul Mirak Update – 02-01-16

The Poul Mirak (Miracle Chicken) co-op is just one of Love A Child’s sustainability programs that is now operating to improve the lives of the people in Haiti. These programs offer long lasting solutions to the many hardships they have faced. Over the last year and a half, the men of the co-op have faced many difficulties, from political to economic, diseases, and much more. However, these men know what it really means to endure. They have shown patience and a desire to learn and improve their community by supplying chickens as a much needed source of protein in the market and extra income for their families. This past weekend was very successful for the men, selling almost 500 birds in just a few days, despite political unrest, resulting in one of the biggest gains for them yet! We are proud of these men who have shown great faith, commitment and determination. On behalf of the men of Poul Mirak, a big thanks to Mike Welch of Harrison Poultry, the World Poultry Foundation, and so many others for making this program possible! To God be the glory! Dave Balsbaugh – Director of Poul Mirak
