The situation at the border between Haiti and the Dominican Republic has always been complicated, but last week brought a new challenge. The provisional government on the Haitian side replaced the customs director, and since then, the cost for our food and medicine containers to cross the border has increased significantly.
Today, we are meeting with the new customs director to respectfully negotiate a rate closer to what we were paying before. These containers carry critical food and life-saving medicine for the poor here in Haiti. Please pray that God would move on his heart, grant us favor, and make a way for safe and economical passage so these much-needed supplies can reach the people who depend on them.
