1,600 bowls, one small truck.

We are in Santo Domingo buying school supplies and other necessities to take back to Haiti. Part of yesterday’s adventure was picking up 1,600 bowls for our food distributions in South Haiti.

We arrived at the factory at closing time to find all 1,600 bowls sitting outside on the street, with every lid already on. We quickly discovered there was NO chance they were fitting in the truck that way.

As it was getting dark in a not-so-great part of town, I hired a few guys off the street, and we started pulling lids and nesting bowls as fast as we could. Needless to say, nobody was taking their time!

God is good! We got all 1,600 loaded and made it out just fine! Today we finished shopping for the back-to-school needs for the kids at the Children’s Home. Never a dull moment on the mission field.
