For centuries, poor Haitians have cooked their food over a “three-rock cooking fire.” This is the traditional cooking method for the poor. We see too many cases of a child falling into the family cook pot or fire, and suffering extensive burns. The lack of proper medical care available to the poor means there is little hope of them receiving badly needed treatment.
