Rebecca…You would never believe where this beautiful young girl came from…her story is “shocking.” But let’s talk about beautiful Rebecca… She is now 12 years old and in 6th grade. She is one of the kindest children we have, and everyone loves her. She is compassionate and merciful, and always helping others. She likes to be by herself a lot. She is quiet but always thinking.

Rebecca is part of our “worship and praise” dance team. Her dance movements are “perfect!” I watch the girls and can’t take my eyes off of her because she is professional and elegant when she dances.

When she was just three years old, she was about to be sold as a restavek slave child. I am quite sure her mother and father both died, and she went to live to with a relative. When a family is poor and cannot feed all the children, they sometimes “sell one child” to be a servant or a slave…but it was so disgusting to me to hear that she would be sold at the age of three! Our Haitian Director, Nelio, had found out about this and called us. Of course, we immediately took her in.

We are so blessed to have her in our life. She has beautiful hair and she is just so sweet and elegant, and loves everyone!!! She makes excellent grades in school and right now she is thinking about becoming a doctor! She wants to help people! We love Rebecca so much! Sherry
