Road Closure Fond Parisien:

Open the road!

I’m hoping to obtain a business meeting with key business owners in Fond Parisien today. Some people in Fond Parisien are convinced the road in Fond Parisien should stay closed. It has been closed now for about two or three months.

We only have one road. It’s harvest time in the mountains, plus the coffee beans are being harvested. The farmers are suffering from not getting their products to the market in Port-au-Prince. Some businesses are suffering because the road is closed. Other businesses are making money because the road is closed. When the road is open, the gangs charge money for the trucks to pass.

The 400 Mawozo gang has opened the road coming here. I believe we should open our road. We only have one road for commerce.

Second, probably, we have one businessman here in the community who is enforcing keeping the road closed.

Twice on social media, he sent a message to Lamou San Jou, the leader of the 400 Mawozo gang, calling his mother names, insulting her, and daring him to attack Fond Parisien.

Well, he did attack with 100 men three days ago, almost taking Fond Parisien if it wasn’t for our security and others.

Now the 400 Mawozo gang leader is saying he will attack and destroy, burn Fond Parisien. This attack, I’m sure will happen very soon. This post today is also for those in Fond Parisien to read.

We all here in our area of Fond Parisien need your prayers. Our orphan children and the children of our area need to stay safe.

“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.” Matthew 5:9
