Next project for the poor.
If you remember, recently, Hurricane Melissa passed between South Haiti and Cuba. Many Haitian families lost their houses due to the strong winds.
Many have been sleeping under tarps on the ground with their children.
The Lord has laid upon our hearts to build them a strong Gabion House. Like we did in 2021 when Hurricane Elsa went through. Every Gabion House we built for the people withstood Hurricane Melissa! We did not lose one house! PTL!
A Gabion House is built with galvanized wire in cages with local rocks, coated with strong concrete. The walls are very thick, very cool in the summer, and can withstand most hurricanes and earthquakes. All the materials to build the house are from Haiti.
A construction company will build the houses, hiring many local people, giving them jobs.
Some houses will have two or three bedrooms, a nice living room, and a front porch. Haitians love their front porches!
The cost to build a strong Gabion House will be $10,600 per house, which will last a lifetime. We have one donor who said, “If we build 30 Gabion Houses, they would donate the money so we can build 30 more!”
From there, we’ll see how many Gabion Houses we can build. We would like to build 150 Gabion Houses, which Hubert has visited, “the families that lost everything.”
You may feel led of the Lord to donate $10,600 to build one house… Please give the Widow’s mite or what the Lord has laid upon your heart.
Love is something you do!
