I can remember the day we took Samuel into our orphanage. He and his family had been living in a poor village very far from us. There were no jobs… just “dry dirt” and very little rainfall for their tiny, pathetic garden. His family had six children, and then little Samuel came along. Sadly enough, Samuel’s mother died during childbirth. That’s the day I remember so well because we had a Mobile Clinic Team with us. The baby was in the arms of this poor, mountain farmer. That father was crying so hard when he handed over the baby to me. Our whole team was crying but we all knew the baby could not survive without nourishment.

Today, Samuel has finished all his schooling and is deciding what he wants to do with his life. Samuel is such a blessing to us! He plays drums and bass guitar in the service each night but more than that, he is extremely sweet, kind, helpful, and loves God! He loves soccer, dominos, basketball, and playing jokes on his brothers! He is one of our favorites!
