This young boy is Jasson (Jackson), who reached into our hearts and took a piece of it when we first met him. We were in the mountains of Savaan Pit, Haiti having a Mobile Medical Clinic. We had finished for the day when a young man, Jackson’s uncle, arrived with him. We had never seen a bigger stomach on any child. He suffered so much from Kwashiorkor Malnutrition. Jackson begged me to “take him home.” I was trying to think of a way we could somehow get him help without taking him in because we already had too many children. But Jackson had “persistent faith,” like the woman in the Bible who kept knocking on the door of the unjust judge to hear her case. Jackson cried and would not give up. He still is under a lot of medical care and our friend, Dr. Debbie Chen, monitors his monthly tests, but he is doing as well as can be expected, as he has a kidney condition. Thank you, precious partners, who cared for him. God bless you, because without you, Jackson would have never lived to see 2019! Happy New Year! Bobby and Sherry
