Saving Little Lives

Childbirth in Haiti usually takes place in a mud hut in a mountain village. Many children and mothers die during childbirth due to many reasons. The poor mothers who are pregnant and live in the mountains, try to “make their baby come faster,” by drinking a special “Haitian tea,” that is made and passed down for generations. It is this “Haitian tea,” that makes their blood pressure “go through the roof!” Many times, the mothers die during childbirth.

We have seen so many poor Haitian women give birth on the ground in a mud hut or other unsanitary places. When a mother dies, her children often have to “fend for themselves.” We are so thankful to the Lord and to our partners who have helped us build our Birthing Center! Thank you to all our partners who send in boxes of diapers, new baby clothing, and so much more! We love you and thank you from the bottom of our hearts, on behalf of the poor.
