Here in Haiti, our emotions swing back and forth each day. We wish we could say that “each day gets better,” and there are no more starving toddlers and babies. But it isn’t so…

Even though you see these pictures of adorable babies and toddlers, they did not look like this months ago…

While other countries are in a “war” with other countries, we have been at “war” here in Haiti for years. Our “war” is different. We are fighting a war every day against “hunger and starvation.”

While some countries can “see their enemy,” the poor Haitian mothers cannot “see death,” coming!

Sometimes, when a baby is malnourished and there is not enough food, the parents will feed the older child more, so he can work in the garden.

When a baby has “Kwashiorkor,” a mother may think the baby is healthy, but he is just full of water (like Jackson). This is far more serious…

This morning, I visited our Malnutrition Clinic.  Babies and toddlers in good condition have been sent home. Their mothers can come back for “Feed My Starving Children” food each month!
