Giving birth in Haiti…

For poor mothers in Haiti, giving birth can mean death for both the baby and the mother. That’s why orphanages in Haiti are running over. Many mothers have died during childbirth, leaving behind an orphan.

But now, the “poorest of the poor” can give birth in the most beautiful, serene Birthing Center in all of Haiti.

While the mother is in the hands of our professional midwives, anxious fathers and relatives sit on the porch of our Birthing Center, in rocking chairs, with Gospel music and the Word of God being preached!

After birth, the mother and baby go to a beautiful room to rest, and the moms get a hot meal. This is all sponsored by wonderful partners.

Yesterday, we received 65 mothers for consultations. Twelve of these mothers had to cross “gang territories” to get here!!
