Yonel…
Most of the pictures that I have of Yonel are of him painting. He is one of our “prodigal sons,” whom we have tried to reel back into the fold. He is now in the state of “being forgiven, but don’t let it happen again.” He had gotten in with some wrong young men, and it nearly killed us. He wasn’t the “Yonel” we had known. We believe everyone deserves a second chance. We found Yonel during a Mobile Medical Clinic in the mountains. He was starving to death from malnutrition. His little sister had died of hunger. The day we brought him down from the mountains, he was hungry and ate nine mangoes! Today, he is working as one of our painters and doing a great job! I’m so glad that “God doesn’t throw us away” when we mess up. Someone said, “He’s the God of the second chance!” Sherry
