Sharing the Harvest

“He that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope.” – 1 Corinthians 9:10

This verse is about sharing the harvest, and I’m sure all of you who garden know the joy of sharing your harvest. Look at the great harvest by the agricultural staff this morning being shared at the Orphanage. From our Edible Plant Nursery at the ATC (Agricultural Training Center), we have sweet bananas, plantains, okra, and a rare treat, Indian Jujube. The bucket of what looks like very small green apples is Jujube. It is a sweet, healthy fruit that the kids eagerly devour. The seeds for the Indian Jujube fruit tree were donated to us, along with many other beneficial plants when we were just starting our ATC, by missionaries Cory and Kris Thede of Wesleyan Global Partners. Cory is a supreme horticulturalist and has blessed us with the jujubes, Peach Palm, many bamboos, and other pants.  The okra seeds came from Hope Seeds, another missionary group that provides appropriate garden seeds to needy people around the world. When all God’s servants come together for His purposes, great and mighty things happen. – Rad Hazelip, Assistant Executive Director
