Ginyia is now 11 years old and in the 6th grade! Her mother died during a c-section. Her father left her and went to the Dominican Republic. He never returned. In the meantime, she was raised by her 17-year-old cousin. When the young girl could no longer “be the mother,” Ginyia was taken to Social Services and was then brought to us.

Ginyia still loves dolls! She loves jump rope, too. Ginyia is very intelligent but a little shy. For now, she says she wants to be a nurse, but “we will see.” She works hard with her older sisters, washing her clothes each Saturday! She doesn’t mind work at all! Sherry
