Daniel is a “pistol!” He is ten years old and in first grade. He is mentally challenged. I found Daniel in the village of Letant, in the hands of an uncle who couldn’t feed him. Both of his parents were dead, so we took him in. When he first went to school, we knew something was wrong with him. We found out that he is mentally challenged. He says crazy things from time to time, like, “The Philistines cut off my hair!” But even with all of his problems, he is such a sweet, sweet boy and always wants a hug! Just look at him, always smiling… However, he is a “handful!” Sometimes, when no one is looking, he climbs up on the top of the “monkey bars” and stands up, giving us a heart attack!! Last week, he was swinging too high on a swing, fell off, and broke his wrist! That wasn’t even the bad part! He went inside, laid down, and didn’t tell anyone! His room mother noticed that his wrist looked “abnormal.” They called me and we sent him to our clinic, and they sent him to a hospital. We hope and pray that as he grows, he will become a little more normal, because he is so, so sweet!! I just love this little guy so much! Sherry
