This week, Sherry and Bobby have finally been able to conduct another important Mobile Medical Clinic for a very needy area outside of Fond Parisien that is not yet under the terrorizing control of the violent gangs. Sherry’s Mobile Medical Clinics take the “Love and Hope of Jesus” to remote areas in the form of well-run, thorough medical clinics for thousands of people who otherwise would have no access to medical care. During these clinics, the patients (who walk from many miles around to see the doctors) also receive a hot prepared meal and the word of God. And, because this is planting season in Haiti, this clinic also took some packets of Hope Seeds and their Mesage L’Espwa (Message of Hope) to distribute. Many of the patients coming to the medical clinic can now help improve their family’s health by having good gardens at their homes. Hope Seeds is a very special ministry that donates the best vegetable seeds to hungry people around the world. We depend on Hope Seed’s donations for our sustainable gardening programs and are very fortunate to be a “seed bank” for them. We distribute their donated seed packets to families and communities throughout Haiti who can benefit by having the specially selected, open-pollinated seeds. In a short time, as their new crops grow, they will be able to feed their families. What the families don’t eat, they will now be able to sell in a marketplace. Their gardens will fight hunger and malnutrition in their children, while also improving the economy in their community.
