Stanley… A Big Brother

We often share pictures of our older children, because they are still a very important part of our lives. You see in Haiti, the government of Haiti wants orphanage kids “out” when they are 18. Most orphanages do this… and often, the child doesn’t know where to go or how to exist.

Once years ago, we met a mother in the mountains bawling her eyes out because her son had turned 18, “and the orphanage where he grew up put him out on the street.” He was walking around Port-au-Prince hungry, sleeping on the streets, and trying to find food. We saved his life by giving him a job. We want all of our children who are able to go to college and fulfill their dream.

Stanley came to us from a very bad orphanage and has been with us ever since. He is in college now, his second year, to become an electrical engineer. He is also responsible for all the diesel fuel that comes in, where it goes, and how it is used. Even though he is a big guy, he is kind, humble, sweet, and very appreciative of what God has done.

Those of you who sponsor a child here know that these children have “big dreams.” And, they know that God uses people like you, to make those dreams come true. Stanley is now 25. We have had him since he was about 8 or 9. He is such a blessing, and all the kids love their “big brother.”
