Stanley “Kinam”

“Stanley, “Kinam,” A Sweet, Gentle Giant.”

Stanley came to us from another orphanage in the Cap Haitian area. In this area of Haiti, some of the Creole is different from other parts.  He was very young, about eight, and was trying to talk to our boys here. They kept asking him what his name was. They finally called him, “Kinam,” meaning “what name?”

Stanley has graduated from high school here in Haiti and wants to work for Love A Child. He helps with everything but we especially put him in control of all our diesel fuel, which is a big job! Diesel can very easily be stolen, so you must always have someone you trust completely.

Stanley used to be “much smaller,” Ha! Right now, if he were in the states, he would be playing football! He is a sweet, gentle giant, and we love him!!! Sherry
