Rad Hazelip, the “Papa” of our Sustainability Outreach, is in Haiti continuing his work with the students at our Agricultural Training Center (ATC). Here is an update from Rad:

“Monday, July 3, was the first full day of the inaugural class of our new Sustainable Agriculture Training course at our Agricultural Training Center. Wilner, our Director of the ATC, has developed a three-week program to teach the sponsored villagers enough about sustainable agriculture that they can return to their villages and help others have successful gardens under the tough conditions in Haiti. Seven students have come from different villages around Haiti to learn these methods. Today they worked and studied hard learning about soil science and how to improve soil for the best reliable crop yields. The students study and work together, and live and worship together in the new bunkhouse. All the students are so happy to be here and appreciate this opportunity to learn how to help their villages have a better life. This is a great opportunity to teach “farming God’s way.” Last night when Bobby and I visited them, they were tired, but happy and smiling eagerly as they told us what they had learned. Today is another day for them. Pray they will return home successfully in three weeks, equipped to begin extending their knowledge to others. Thank you, partners, for helping change lives in Haiti.”
