Kenzy… His mother used to bring him across the lake in Letant in a little fishing boat. At that time, we had a small clinic here at Love A Child. We never knew or realized the “depth” of treatment involved for Kenzy, nor the pain that he would be experiencing in his young life.
Sickle cell is a group of inherited blood disorders where the red blood cells, which are usually round, become rigid and change their shape to resemble a sickle shape. A bad protein, called “hemoglobin,” will cause major health problems, like pain, anemia, and damage to organs. They can also “get stuck in small blood vessels,” and block the flow of blood.
I have learned that this is usually inherited. That would make sense to me, because his poor mother was “always sick,” too.
Kenzy is still in the hospital, in pain, and in need of your prayers. Kenzy has always been the “sweetest” of all the boys. We all love him and want him home and in good health.
Thank you for your prayers.
