Daniel or “Ti Daniel” (Little Daniel) was found during a Mobile Clinic in the poor village of Old Letant. (We have another Daniel, so this is Ti Daniel).

In this village, the majority are Voodoo… even though we have a small Christian church and school. His father died when he was hit in the head with a rock! After that, his mother died and the villagers were trying to feed him and keep him alive but they were having a hard time feeding their own families. So, we took him in.

Daniel is nine years old now. He has been mentally ill for quite some time. When we first sent him to school, we found out the school teachers were “tying him to his chair,” so that he wouldn’t run out and try to run home! He is doing better now, although he has a hard time with school.

Daniel loves sports, especially soccer. He loves to work and he is best at “one on one,” instead of playing with crowds of children. I will say that this is “one sweet kid!” He longs for love and for approval when he does something right. No doubt he would never have lived if we had not taken him from the village of Old Letant. He is in God’s hands. We believe the Lord can touch his life and any emotional and mental problems he has. One thing is for sure… “Love is the best medicine!” Sherry

P.S. Ti Daniel is “fearless!” He is not even afraid to try to take the “ball” away from Sampson, our Rottweiller… of course, Sampson’s answer is always “no!”
