Tea for Kidney Stones (via Haitians)

Tea for Kidney Stones (via Haitians)

Yesterday, Bryon, who is a temporary missionary with Love A Child, had a terrible attack of kidney stones. Bryon works every day in the hot sun, along with our Haitian workers, and never complains, loves God, and loves working on building projects for the poor. He was suffering so badly that I asked Gilbert to make him some tea. I said, “Make Bryon the same tea you made for Mr. Bobby when he had kidney stones.” Gilbert (pictured in the yellow T-shirt) went out in the yard and came back with three plants. I will tell you the name in Creole since he couldn’t tell me what it would be in English…

3 – 4 leaves of Gwoten
3 leaves from the plant, Fe Lougarou
1 leaf of Bouldimas, which he broke into two pieces
1 pinch of salt

There is no certain way to make this. He just said, “Boil the water and put these items in. The water will change color, and then you can drink it. You can also put the rest in the refrigerator and heat it later.”

We gave Bryon one cup in the morning and one cup at noon. He still insisted on working and was better, but still had pain that evening. We gave him a final cup at about 6:00 p.m. and sent him to bed. The next morning, he had no pain and has not had pain since!

I know that some of you may not have these, be familiar with them, or maybe they are called something else, but this really works! Sherry

P.S. Oh yes… That “Fe Lougarou…” A Lougarou is a mystical Haitian spirit, so good luck with one!
