Widlene, the older girl on the right, has graduated from college here in Haiti as a “Chef” and professional cook! Yes, she cooks at our “Fresh Foods” restaurant operated by her older Haitian brothers, but when she is home at our orphanage, the little boys love for her to “teach them how to cook!” Normally, here in Haiti, it is the young ladies cooking… but these “young men” have their sights on learning how to cook, or maybe even taking lessons in college!

When Widlene is in the kitchen at our orphanage, she is usually surrounded by little boys, who think they “get to taste the food” before everyone else does! They all love to be the “professional taste testers!” The boys give “good points” to all her food! There is nothing that she makes that “gets a low grade!” They have “the best job in Haiti,” even though they don’t get paid with money… “they get paid with delicious food!” – Sherry
