Testimony from Renelle

Testimony from Renelle: 2-3-18 2:00 PM

Dear Friends,

This note is from Renelle, one of our Team Members from our Peyi Pouri Mobile Clinic. If you have never been on a Mission Team Trip with Love A Child, pray about going and having the Lord change your heart…

“There are no words to express my gratefulness for the second trip to Haiti. Haiti has my Heart. I love and believe in Love A Child, Debbie Click, everyone and especially, the children. My heart aches for them and God is gracious to once again change me into a new person. I can’t leave the water running while I brush my teeth. Only eat twice a day and thank you Sherry, I am continuing to clean out my closet and sweep away all unneeded material possessions as I pray towards Haiti.

Conviction is a good thing:  Do I need five pairs of tennis shoes?  NO. Do I really need to eat three times day? NO. For every .08 cents I waste, a child goes without a bowl of food. People often ask me, how I stay so slim at my age. My answer, “I share my food.” For every dollar I send to Haiti, 10 more come back!

WHILE in Haiti last week, look what God did!!!

  • Hired in Urgent Care – My first job as a Certified Medical Assistant
  • GIVEN schedule, unheard of:  Mon-Fri, NO weekends so I can attend church! (No one else gets this.)
  • Received monies from a friend to carry me through to first paycheck
  • Anonymous gifter upgraded me to 1st Class flight back to Oregon. It helped so much! (Volunteered in Haiti with a torn meniscus in knee, I didn’t want anyone to know.
  • Peyi Pouri pictures sent to my college advisor have inspired – they will be writing a feature story for all students to consider as another avenue of medical service.

So much more… God covered me behind-the-scenes while we served. He kept asking me while in Haiti, resting in my tent, and while holding children in the church at 2:30 AM “DO YOU TRUST ME?” It’s easy to trust when you “have” – it’s harder when life is up-in-the-air and you don’t know where your next meal is coming from.

Exactly what the Haitian people suffer EVERY day.  Thank you God for allowing me to experience what they do, for deeper empathy and Faith.

Sherry, sending you a few eyeglass pictures- only have 2, Oriol has rest; and Meliciana in 2017 & 2018 (Miss Adeline’s).

You have my heart, devotion and utmost respect. Missing you and cried all the way back to US – will be working overtime to earn extra PTO so I can come back (twice) this year.  PTL”

“In the end, it isn’t what we (have) that matters ~~ only what we GIVE remains.”
