Once you have really seen what hunger does to a poor child in Haiti, it breaks your heart. There are two types of malnutrition: Kwashiorkor and Marasmus.

We often see the skinny, thin babies and may think those babies are the worst off. But when we see babies who look fat but are really bloated, it is even worse.

Poor mothers may try to feed their starving babies candy, cookies, and sweets. They may look fat, but they are not healthy.

We have special foods for our malnourished babies, and for those who may look fat and healthy, but are not.

These children need special care, medicines, and the right food, along with plenty of love.

We are so proud of our doctors, workers, and everyone who works together to get these little ones on the right food and to train poor mothers on what is best for their babies.
