When you have a lot of Haitian girls, there are always a lot of “hair-dos” and stuff going on. Braiding and getting hair ready for church and school takes a lot of time! Here, we see Rebecca braiding the hair of her “sister,” Fabiola!
Fabiola’s mother died, and her stepfather could not care for her. Sometimes her stepfather would leave her and her brother and be gone for days with no food. Fabiola was brought to our orphanage by the Department of Social Services.
She is now in 7th grade and her dream is to be a pediatrician! She had plenty of time to think about that! Right now, she just wants to have her hair braided for school tomorrow!! These children consider each other brothers and sisters!! It’s a big family!!
