Have you ever been faced with danger? When I was a small child living in Pennsylvania, we lived out in the country. We had a neighbor whose name was Bernie. She was terrified of storms, and each time a storm came, my mother would send me over to her house to stay with her. I was only about 11, but I was not afraid of storms. I was a small, calming force to Bernie.
Fear is a terrible thing. It can make you nervous, give you an irregular heartbeat, and worst of all, it has “torment.” Living in Haiti with gangs all around us has taught us a lot about “right in the Hands of the Lord.” Satan can never “pluck you out of His hand.” Jesus talks about His sheep in John Chapter 10. I wish I could have been there to hear Jesus say this…
“Neither shall any man pluck them out of my Hand. My Father, which gave them to me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s Hand… I and my Father are one.” John 10:28-29
Each day my prayer will be, “Lord, keep me safe in the Palm of Your Hand. No one can pluck me out of Your Hand!!!” It is the best hiding place in the world! Isn’t God good?
