The Big Food Distribution in Port Ploumes, Port Glacie, and Port Cité

The Big Food Distribution in Port Ploumes, Port Glacie, and Port Cité

Note: This was written by our Haitian orphan son, Dieuferly. When he was a baby, Sherry and I rode our mules many hours through the mountains to help a village called Covant. We discovered Dieuferly there, sick and with severe club feet. We brought him back and gave him an operation. Now he has grown up and he has compassion for the poor. He and his Haitian brothers are over our “Food Distribution Program,” and do a great job!

“Hello everyone, I hope this email finds you well. Today, joy and gratitude filled the people of Port Ploumes, Port Glacie, and Port Cité as families gathered to receive a box of “tipanou” from Love A Child. For these families, each box is more than food—it is hope and kindness.

Our appointment with them was at 7:30 a.m. but many people arrived so early, some were crossing the lake at dawn to secure their place in line. As Pastor Soufrans noted, “Some traveled early, fearing there wouldn’t be enough for all.”

Among them, 300 women represented their families, ensuring that over 300 households received that blessing box of Feed My Starving Children food. Their journeys were long: Port Cité required a 1.5-hour boat ride, Port Glacie 35 minutes, and Port Ploumes 20 minutes, but their spirits remained high.

When the boxes were distributed, smiles and gratitude filled the air. Despite their hardships, these communities radiate warmth and appreciation. Their heartfelt thanks went to “Mom and Dad” and all the supporters who made this possible.

For Love A Child, every visit is a humbling reminder of the power of generosity. As boats departed, carrying families and their precious food boxes, one thing was clear: today was about more than distribution, it was about love, connection, and hope.

Dieuferly”
