The first four children we took into our small orphanage were Julianne, Berry, Sheline, and Jonise. We had visited the village of L’Artibonite, Haiti, where we had been doing Mobile Medical Clinics. An elderly grandma had been left with four children to raise, and then grandma died! We were there in the village when the whole group of villagers said, “you must take them in!” And we did. We put those four scared little children into our cruiser and took off to Pétionville. We found a nurse and then a pastor helped us to find someone to look after them. (We hadn’t built the orphanage yet at that time.) Several of the children were very sick, but we took good care of them. We rented a two-story house to begin our “orphanage!”
Today, they all live in the United States. Everyone has a job! Julianne (pictured here) is now working in a hospital in New York and looking forward to someday soon getting her nursing career started! Just look what the Lord can do when you say “yes” to Jesus. We love our children, and we love you, our partners! Bobby and Sherry
