The Fond Parisien road, one week ago, opened from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The road has been closed for several months, preventing all commerce from the mountains or Port-Au-Prince from coming through. The community brigade was in charge of closing the road.
They were afraid the gangs would send guns and ammunition hidden in the trucks. They were afraid if the road was open, the gangs would attack us.
The gangs were supposed to leave Ganthier but did not. Those poor people have not returned to their homes yet. It’s time the 400 Mawozo leaves Ganthier. It was an awful day when they took over Ganthier and ran 2,000 people from their homes with nothing but their clothes on their backs. Gantheir is only about eight miles or so from Love A Child.
Now, the 400 Mawozo gang in Ganthier is charging a high price to travel through. Ordinary people don’t pass through… mostly just the big box trucks carrying commerce from the mountains.
