This is the “Rest of the Story,” about the little children. Four little hungry, tired, children came to our Malnutrition Clinic. Bekensley, age 3, Madanm, age 2, Tupinyol, Age 4 and Chelanda, age 6. These four little children were dropped off at our Jesus Healing Center. They were not sick… they were hungry! Their mother had left them to escape the violence and beatings from their father. She abandoned them in a desert area!
Thankfully, a compassionate person found them and recognized their hunger and starvation. For about six months, they have been without enough food and struggling alongside their aging grandmother who cares for them with little or nothing.
These children have never experienced a hot meal, a hug, a father and mother, and certainly no education. They have never had “even one meal a day!” Their visit to the clinic was not due to illness but their search for food. They are in deep distress, hunger, and sadness, with no relatives to care for them. Our clinic workers immediately took them to our Malnutrition Clinic and sat them down for a good hot meal! Someon (the man in the blue shirt), came to pick them up later. He was someone who heard about their plight and didn’t know what to do with them. Now, we must pray for wisdom and guidance on how to help these little hungry children, living with an elderly grandma. Haiti’s problems are “our” problems. Hungry children are everyone’s problem. Thank you for taking the time to read this tender story.
