Those of you who know Florence know that we have had her since she was about a year old. We took her, her two sisters, and her brother in when their mother died. She has had asthma since she was small and is not doing badly. But now, she is in a medical university in Italy. She wants to be a physical therapist, but her college wanted her to take radiology first.

Now, she is doing an internship at a hospital there. She has to leave at 7:00 am and travel quite a distance by train and gets back at 7:40 pm. She said, “look at my eyes, mom. I’m so tired.”

I told her, “Florence, the Haitian Proverb says, “Chemen lajan pa gen pikan.” It means, “The road to money has no thorns!” You will make it!

We are so proud of Florence!! She will be the best at whatever she does…whether it is radiology or

physical therapy! We love her so, so much!!!
