The Story of Baby Woodnaika… You Saved Another Life!

Little Woodnaika started life out with nothing. Her father died when she was born, and her mother died when she was three months old. Her mother was on the way to the market to sell a few things to be able to buy food, but she got caught up in the area of the gangs! There was gunfire between the police and the gangs, and Woodnaika’s mother got caught in the gunfire and died, sadly.

The baby was taken to her aunt’s small house. (Her aunt already had six children!) This family had to walk 45 minutes one way just to get water! The mother of these six children (now seven, with Woodnaika) has to send her children to the river to get water, and then, she sells it! The family’s main diet is “bread and sugar water!”

This is one of the main causes of severe malnutrition, called “Kwashiorkor!” If a Haitian child lives beyond the age of five, they are often called “little survivors!”

Woodnaika’s aunt brought her to our Jesus Healing Center with severe diarrhea, thin legs and wrists, swollen stomach, and “broken bits of hair.” Our doctor immediately sent her to our Malnutrition Center Clinic. She was put in isolation for a while but started immediately on a special baby formula. During her stay at our Malnutrition Center, she gained 5.4 kg (11.9 pounds).

After a while, she was allowed to eat the “Feed My Starving Children rice,” a rice mixture that you, our sponsors, provide. She loved it!! She has been discharged, and her aunt will bring her back each month for a check-up and “return home with a large box of Feed My Starving Children food — 216 meals!”

Thank you, partners… You saved another little life! You can lay your head on your pillow tonight and say, “I have saved another life! I’m so glad God chose me!”

Thank you, again, for all the lives you have saved and loved! The fact that “you” are alive is making an impact on many children, just like “Woodnaika!”

We also want to thank Joyce Meyer Ministries – Hand of Hope for sponsoring the building of this Malnutrition Center, the furnishings, and for sponsoring our Jesus Healing Center monthly!

When we all work together, we get much more done for the Kingdom!
