Because of Chrisna Pierre’s sickness, she did not have the strength to sit in a chair. Chrisna’s husband did not take care of her as he should have. She had a hard time when her mother passed away, and now, her husband isn’t bringing in much food and she feels “alone.”

The day finally came when she was going to give birth. Our Sajfams (midwives) were ready to help her. She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, “Dacha Jean.” The baby weighed 3.2 kg. She received many beautiful clothes and gifts for her baby from our Love A Child partners. She didn’t “bring one thing for the new baby,” because she had no money at all. She received rest, a good hot meal, and beautiful clothes for her baby.

So many women in Haiti die in childbirth. In fact, many of the children from our orphanage lost their mother during childbirth. We are so thankful for our beautiful Birthing Center!!! It saves lives! God bless our wonderful partners who helped sponsor it! We are thankful that we can have a small part of “saving lives” here in Haiti.
