Miliana Exume was found in the village of Madamn Bauje, Haiti. We were filming a Love A Child TV program. I noticed a dirty little girl walking all by herself. She was looking down, chewing on the string of her sweater. She had horrible sores on her body, most of them looked like “tree trunks.” She was thin and hungry, and we felt that she would die if we left her there. She had more growths all over her body, especially her hands, feet, and legs.
We sent her to a skin specialist in the States and he did everything he could for her, but there were so many of the “tree trunk growths” on her body that it would have been impossible to take them all off, so we brought her home to Haiti.
Miliana must stay out of the sun. She must be covered when she goes outside, and she is to wear tights and long-sleeved blouses or sweaters. She is now 17 years old and is still in school. Her face is much better, and we know God has taken care of her. Thank you, Partners, for helping us rescue Haitian children who would have died from hunger, disease, and abandonment. Great is your reward in Heaven! Sherry
