The Sweetest Family!: 4-17-19 8:00 AM

I know that most of you have been following the story about the family that we just pulled out of the largest garbage dump in Haiti and moved into a brand-new house here in Miracle Village! This family is one of the sweetest families I have ever met. The mother has had me so worried! She has been extremely sick from the horrible living conditions that they were in. She has been on “death’s doorstep,” and I honestly did not know if she was going to be able to pull through. The whole family has been coming to our clinic and getting the best possible care! Something that has amazed me is that when they came here to Love A Child, they did not know they were moving, they simply thought that they were coming to our clinic to get help for the mother. Our ambulance picked up the whole family and all they had with them were the clothes on their back!! That evening we took them to their new house, and ever since then, they have not returned to the garbage dump. They literally only had “the clothes on their back.” They had nothing to go back for! Can you imagine that?

The mother is slowly getting better! She was even laughing and making the effort to get out of bed and do some kind of activity today. With the mother being so sick, we have tried to help even more with the six children. Today, some of our older girls from our Love A Child Children’s Home and myself went over to give the kids a bath, make sure they had taken their medicine, cleaned up a little, and even made sure they had some food to eat. This picture stole my heart! This is Kristela and Bianca, and the little baby is Esther; the youngest of the children that were living in the garbage dump. This little girl is a doll!!!! Would you ever think that she was born and being raised in the middle of a trash pit? Today, I was trying to explain to the father that he does not have to worry about stocking up on water. He was at the water pump right by his house, but if you walk inside his house you will see many, many, many buckets full of water because he is scared they will run out! Before living here, they never knew when they were going to be able to get water. This family has touched my heart! I can’t wait to see how far they will come in the next couple of months. Stay tuned for more updates on this sweet family, and once the mother gets to feeling well, we will give you a good picture update on her!

We love you! Look at what God has done!!! Love, Kaeli
